Bordered on the northwest with Pakistan, north with the Chinese province of Sinkiang and east with Tibet, stands this GIANT kingdom.

The photographers around the world await for the Rohtang pass to open up its jaws for the road trip, that takes you through the steep curves of Keylong, followed by riverside camps amidst mountains at Jispa, and the beautiful roads of Baralancha La that leaves you spell bound by its beauty. If you have time in hand, you definitely must hit the road trip, for this is the place where the journey would mean more than reaching the destination.

Once you are in Leh, relax and let your body acclimatize to this sudden change of altitude. Be to the Khardungla pass, and feel proud to be at the highest motorable road of the world. Speak to the military men on the route, they have some inspiring stories to share and then head to the Nubhra valley. The major attractions here are White sand dunes and double humped camels for ride.

The another well known place to be is the color changing Pangong Tso lake located next to China border through Changla pass. You would be awfully smitten by the beauty of this idiot lake.

Life at Ladakh is characterized by intense spiritualities. When you are here, visit the monasteries of Alchi, Diskit & Hunder, Hemis, Lamayuru, Shanti Stupa, Spituk, Thiksey etc. Another thing to look here is the priceless antiques and art. You might even bump into students from different parts of the world, studying Buddhism here. Other major attractions for the tourist worldwide have been the cycling , rafting and trekking expeditions at the region. Even if you are an Indian traveler, this world would not be same like the people you have left behind. Take this road for this is less travelled.. this leads to a whole new unseen world.

Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

  • Day : 1 Arrive - Leh

    Arrival Leh Kushok Bakula Airport (This must be one of the Most Sensational Flights in the World. On a clear day from one side of the aircraft can be seen in the distance the peaks of K2, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum and on the other side of the aircraft, so close that you feel you could reach out and touch it, is the Nun Kun massif.) Upon arrival you will met by our representative and transfer to Hotel for Check in. Complete day for rest and leisure to acclimatize followed by Welcome tea or Coffee at the Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

  • Day : 2 Leh Local Sightseeing

    After breakfast drive to visit Hall of Fame (war museum), Spituk Monastery (7kms) founded by Od-Lde in 11th century A.D and was named by Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo (the great translator), Pathar Sahib (Gurudwara), Magnetic Hill and Sangam (35kms) confluence of river Indus and Zangskar. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

  • Day : 3 Leh – Nubra Valley – Overnight

    After early breakfast drive to Nubra valley via Khardongla Pass (18,380ft) the world's highest motor able road and gateway to Siachen Glacier, the views from the top of the pass are amazing. Visit Deskit Monastery (118kms) founded by Lama Sherab Zangpo in 1420 A.D. Packed Lunch will be provided (optional), post lunch visit Hundar village (7kms from Deskit) and Double-Humped Bactrian Camel Safari in sand dunes between Hundar and Deskit villages. Dinner and overnight at Hotel/Camp in Nubra.

  • Day : 4 Nubra Valley - Pongong Lake – Overnight

    After early breakfast leave for Pangong Lake (14,500ft), 4-5 hrs drive one way through Changla Pass (17,350ft) third highest motor able road in the world. This famous blue brackish salt water lake is 5-6 kms in width and around 134 kms in length with 75 percent of its running the other side of the Indo China Border. On the way visit Shey Palace (15kms) Shey was the summer Palace of Ladakhi Kings, where you can see three storied statue of Buddha Shakyamuni, made of copper and plated with gold. Thiksay Monastery (17kms) the 12 storied Monastery of Thiksay is the principal Monastery of Gelugpa order situated in the most prominent of positions lies on an island mountain, packed lunch will be provided (optional), dinner and overnight at Camp in Pangong.

  • Day : 5 Pongong Lake - Leh

    After breakfast drive back to Leh via same route visiting Hemis Monastery (45kms from Leh) the largest and most famous Monastery in Ladakh, packed lunch will be provided (optional), and can visit Sindhu Ghat before reaching Leh. Evening free to explore the local markets of Leh. Dinner and overnight at Hotel in Leh.

  • Day : 6 Leh Drop

    Early morning transfer to airport to catch your onward flight back home with sweet memories of Ladakh.
